What’s New at HiveWatch: Recent Product Updates

May 6, 2025

The team at HiveWatch believes that security technology should work for you, not the other way around. Over the past quarter, our team has been hard at work refining the HiveWatch® GSOC Operating System (OS) based on what matters most – your feedback.

We’ve listened carefully to suggestions, challenges, and success stories from our customers as we created the latest updates. The result? A series of thoughtful updates designed to make your daily security operations more intuitive, efficient, and valuable.

From streamlined incident response workflows to enhanced dashboard customization options, these improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating security solutions that adapt to your unique needs. Because when your security platform feels like a natural extension of your team, that’s when true protection happens.

Let’s explore how the latest updates are transforming the way our customers manage their security operations:

QuickReport

The Challenge: Customers wanted the ability to encourage employees or visitors to report incidents around a facility directly to the global security operations center (GSOC).

How We Addressed It: The HiveWatch team created QuickReport, an add-on feature within the GSOC OS.

How it Works: Easily download QR codes from the HiveWatch® GSOC OS and place them throughout your facilities. Employees can use the QR codes to quickly report any incidents they observe during their shifts. The incident submission portal enables users to report incidents efficiently, providing options to add detailed descriptions, attach media, and remain anonymous (if desired). Operators and facility managers can filter incidents by location, reporting time, incident type, and more, allowing for efficient and timely incident triage.

Why it Matters: QuickReport embodies the saying “see something, say something” by allowing multiple people within a facility to report what’s happening at any given time. This can help streamline response and provide a record for later investigations or case management action.

Guard Mobile App Post Orders

The Challenge: In the GSOC, operators benefit from embedded standard operating procedures (SOPs) that help guide them through response to specific types of incidents. For field resources, this functionality didn’t exist and was a piece of the puzzle that customers felt was missing.

How We Addressed It: We took the same approach that helps guide operators to our field resources by building customized Post Orders – orders given to guards on their post/shift – for users of the Guard Mobile App.

How it Works: Upload site-specific Guard Post Orders to the HiveWatch® GSOC OS. Guards can access these instructions directly within their mobile app on active tours, dispatched incidents, and other key pages, ensuring critical information is always easily accessible where and when it’s needed.

Why it Matters: Not only does it help field resources to know how to respond given a specific type of situation, providing in-app Post Orders helps reduce the amount of training required for these resources. Additionally, response times can be reduced when these resources understand the next steps in any given situation, which can help save lives.

Panic Alarms

The Challenge: One of our healthcare customers needed the ability to ingest panic alarms into its GSOC using the GSOC OS so that incidents could be created and triaged according to the organization’s SOPs.

How We Addressed It: Using an integration with our partners at Genetec, HiveWatch was able to build an integration to ingest panic alarms into the platform.

How it Works: The HiveWatch® GSOC OS connects to our customer’s ACS and through the integration, is able to ingest panic alarms into the incident event.

Why it Matters: In a healthcare setting, it’s critical for medical staff to be able to alert security in the event of an incident quickly and efficiently. By doing so, GSOC operators are able to centralize the management of these events in the GSOC OS using built-in SOPs, from incident creation to resolution.

Program Dashboards

The Challenge: GSOC managers didn’t have access to the kind of program data that would help them allocate resources appropriately, or demonstrate improvements and value drivers their GSOC brings to the wider business.

How We Addressed It:  The HiveWatch Dashboard is readily available to Program Managers in the GSOC OS, with real-time data and intuitive breakdowns to get the insights they need at the click of a button.

How it Works: HiveWatch ingests valuable data and does all the legwork to structure it in ways that make sense to GSOC managers. Over the last few years, HiveWatch has worked closely with these programs to gain a better understanding of what data our customers need to take effective action.

Why it Matters: Data moves the needle for organizations, proving the value of security investments, and being able to highlight the work being done in the GSOC (and measure against SLAs) is critical. Embedded dashboards and the ability to customize reporting opens up a world of possibilities for customers aiming to make improvements to resourcing, program improvements, and SLA evaluation.
